Allocation: Hörnateljén, BKN
Dates: 17 October – 17 November

Linus Krantz’s artistic practice consists of a deconstruction of what it means to create images, manifested through an alchemical experimentation within artistic craft. Themes such as cycles, escapism, and systemic societal failures from an environmental perspective recur throughout his work. There is a foundational core in printmaking and in how innovation within traditional processes can form a dialectic with ongoing societal development.

In his artworks, the landscape and nature are in constant conflict with human‑constructed industry.

In his current project, experiences and images gathered from the surroundings and nature around Arlanda Airport, Stockholm, are being collected. It is a peripheral place with little visual representation in our collective image bank, yet it holds an essential function in enabling our civilization’s communication and market economy. The project explores the aesthetics of circuit boards and the history of etching, and their parallels to the airport’s logistical functions and design.

“In my work at Konstnoden, I will focus on producing circuit boards. I also want to test possibilities for the circuit boards to become something spatial, and potentially work sculpturally with the material that emerges.”
