“In my work, thread and fabric fragments are used in ways that relate more to freehand drawing and painting than to traditional textile techniques. I work with recycled materials — cutting apart, overdyeing, bleaching, etching, printing, and stitching together.

I reuse all kinds of remnants to create new forms of language. I join pieces that are then used in a compositional relationship between colour and form in the space. I let the image become three‑dimensional; I want the individual parts to come together into something that might resemble a tableau, or a forest, or at least create a place where the viewer’s movement causes the image’s framing to shift in the eye, perhaps opening up for a relational reading of a room.

During late summer I have been dyeing wool and silk fabrics with plant-based dyes — mixtures of madder, alkanet, oak leaves, onion skins, and gall apples — a muted palette ranging from light grey to dark brown, with a long central strip of flesh‑coloured pink. I will bring this, along with various hanging devices, to Björkö to make subtle hand‑stitched interventions in the space: sculptural, spatial drawings, perhaps with a few sewn‑in branches, a porridge bell, carabiners, or Karoliner stirrups.”
