I was born in Iran and now based in Sweden, first studied Business Management at Allameh Tabataba’i University in Tehran 1975-1978 At the same time I attended independent art courses at University of Tehran where I studied under the renowned artist Hannibal Alkhas.
Between 2002 and 2004, I studied Literature and Creative Writing at Stockholm University. I later continued my artistic education in Los Angeles, first studying Art at College of the Canyons. I later transferred to the prestigious California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where I was awarded a merit-based scholarship and accepted directly into the second year of the Fine Arts program. During my study at CalArts, my solo exhibition led to my advancement by one semester. Since then, I have participated in international group exhibitions, in
New York (US), Paris (France), Basel (Switzerland), Venice, Mantua and Sanremo (Italy).
I draw my inspiration from life and from the world around us. Everything I experience whether personal or shared can become part of my practice.
My work is a way of reflecting on and transforming these experiences into art. Through different materials and forms. I explore themes of identity, belonging, and our shared human condition.
A continuous thread throughout my work is my own journey between Iran, Sweden, and the United States. Living between different cultures has shaped the way I see the world and deepened my interest in the connections between people, places, and memories.
Through my art, I hope to create space for reflection and invite a dialogue between the artwork and the viewer.
